Iroko

Iroko, often also called Kambala, is one of the most common wood species in Africa. The tree can grow up to 45 meters tall and reach a diameter of 2 meters. The heartwood ranges from grey to greenish-yellow, sometimes also brown, depending on its origin. When exposed to light, the heartwood darkens, creating a golden-brown to dark olive-brown colour with a matte sheen. Although Iroko is not related to oak or teak and does not look similar to them superficially, it is often used as a substitute for these wood species.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0561/8997/6657/collections/iroko_61d43473-1226-4e8d-ae9e-fff5e307ab14.jpg?v=1725890805
